What is in store for 2025 after eight Bulldogs heard their names called in the NFL Draft last week?
If that figure increases, don’t be shocked by it.
You’ll recognize some of the names listed here. Whether they choose to depart early or continue for their senior year will rely on others.
Let’s look at:
Carson Beck, quarterback: This one is obviously simple.
It is hardly unreasonable to assume that Beck would have heard his name shortly after, considering that six quarterbacks were selected in the first 12 picks on Thursday. Given his stellar year, Beck should be selected in the first round.
Trevor Etienne, running back: Is Etienne the Bulldogs’ only option going forward? It is feasible with a strong junior year. Since running backs don’t have as much of a shelf life as other positions, Etienne might choose to become a professional.
RG Tate Ratledge: The senior is among the SEC’s most seasoned offensive guards. Ratledge thought about quitting a year early. He made a sensible decision to stay, but there’s little doubt that he can use this season to position himself for an NFL draft selection the following spring.
WR Dillon Bell: Bell is a junior as well, and he may decide to come back. But we’ll assume he turns pro for the purposes of this piece. If he does, teams will be envious of his physical playmaking style and his capacity to outmaneuver potential opponents when vying for the ball.
WR Dominic Lovett: If Lovett leads the Bulldogs in receptions, don’t be shocked. The Missouri transfer may not be selected in the first round, but he will show NFL teams that he is a talented player who will produce results.
DE Mykel Williams: Williams’s draft standing will only be improved by his ability to play both outside linebacker and defensive end. If the junior quits a year early and gets himself into the first round, don’t be startled. He is really gifted.
S. Malaki Starks: Starks, a junior, had to depart early. The Jefferson native appears to be a solid pick to face Beck in the opening round, should he does. Teams would be lined up to take the young talent, who is among the most versatile safety options in college football.
DL Nazir Stackhouse: Had Stackhouse stayed after the previous season, he probably would have been selected. If he has a good season this autumn, he might be selected on the second day.
LB Smael Mondon: If Mondon stays healthy, he’ll put up big statistics and show off the athleticism that NFL teams adore.
OL Earnest Greene III: Greene is only a redshirt sophomore, although he has the option to depart if he so chooses. Green’s son will play offensive line in the NFL, much like his father did. All that needs to be decided is if it will happen in April of the following year or not.
LB Jalon Walker: Walker is a fascinating tale because he might not even start for the Bulldogs at any particular position. He is, however, among Georgia’s greatest athletes across the board for the defense. He could feel pressured to take the risk and leap right in.
