After losing in the playoffs, the Steelers need to be “more disciplined,” and “in-house” improvements are needed.
After forcing their way into the postseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers were soundly defeated 31–17 by the Buffalo Bills on Monday. The Steelers’ seven-season playoff winless streak was prolonged by the wild-card loss, making it the longest such streak for a Pittsburgh team since 1970.
According to NFL Research, the Steelers have not won an NFL championship since 2017. They have also allowed 41.5 points per game, a -49 point differential, and a -8 turnover differential in their four postseason games.
Running back Najee Harris, who was present for two of those playoff defeats, was unable to contain his outrage after Monday’s crushing.
“Obviously, I’ve been here for three years. I’m only a gamer, but I do have opinions. However, some internal issues must be resolved if you want to advance and reach our current level, Harris stated, according to Sports Illustrated’s All Steelers. “I’m usually told to just play running back by coach [Mike Tomlin]. That’s another small internal thing we have. However, we need to make some internal changes if we’re going to improve our current situation and accomplish our desired outcomes. As I have stated, that is not my place, and I am unable to change it.”
