Coach of the Raiders’ running backs, Carnell “Cadillac” Williams.
Once more, the Raiders of Las Vegas moved swiftly to appoint a coach after one was abruptly removed. Carnell “Cadillac” Williams has been added to their team.
The Las Vegas Raiders have had to swap out coaches who didn’t even oversee a team game in the past two weeks. Kliff Kingsbury was anticipated to accept an offer from the Raiders after withdrawing from consideration for the offensive coordinator role.
DeShaun Foster, the new running backs coach for Las Vegas, also had to be replaced. The seasoned running back accepted the role of head coach at UCLA, the university where he played football during his college career. After Foster left, the Raiders tried to find a suitable replacement as soon as possible.
Coach Antonio Pierce has done a fantastic job of appointing former players who, like him, are now National Football League coaches to his staff. He employed Foster and Carnell “Cadillac” Williams, Foster’s replacement, in this manner.
Williams and Foster share a number of similarities. Both had excellent NFL careers and were strong running backs throughout their college years. Jon Gruden, a former Raiders coach who was formerly the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach, selected Williams in the first round following his excellent collegiate career.
Williams would play for seven seasons and accumulate more than 4,000 yards gained through rushes. Williams began his coaching career at the University of West Georgia as a graduate assistant after leaving the NFL. Gus Malzan, a former Auburn University coach, hired him in 2019 to teach Auburn’s running backs.
Even after Auburn fired its two head coaches, he would stay there. Williams was appointed Auburn’s interim head coach following the dismissal of Bryan Harsin, the team’s most recent head coach. As the acting head coach of one of the weakest teams in what is maybe the strongest league in college football, he would go 2-2.
Williams will now assist and guide the Raiders’ squad of running backs, which may look very different in the upcoming campaign.
