Boxing coach Adam Booth believes Daniel Dubois could benefit from a challenging matchup with Filip Hrgovic.
After their June fight, Dubois emerged as the IBF’s interim champion. Oleksandr Usyk vacated; hence, he has now been promoted to full champion.
On September 21 (live on DAZN), Dubois will defend his title against Anthony Joshua. Following a brutal bout with Hrgovic, Booth told Sky Sports he believed he would survive any threat from Joshua.
Booth speculated that Hrgovic’s repeated success in finding the right hand might have served as a wake-up call for Daniel that he needed to make that modification.
“It would take an idiot to not see that you must remove Anthony Joshua’s right hand from him.”
He went on, “Even though there is a greater body of work at that level and we know more about AJ, there will always be a small adjustment when working with a new coach.
Based on his last two performances, I think Dubois is really getting better, and that will help him become a better fighter.
