Sad News: Just In, Derby County Young Experienced Player Now Set To Miss Four Months

One of Paul Warne’s Derby County stars could miss up to four months due to an injury, which is a “terrible” blow to the manager.

David Ozoh, who is joining Derby on loan from Crystal Palace, was officially confirmed as the team’s sixth summer addition on Wednesday, much to the pleasure of Derby supporters.

Sadly, the excitement surrounding his arrival was short-lived, as Chesterfield destroyed the Rams 4-0 in their most recent preseason friendly.

From the beginning to the end, the League Two rookies controlled the game as goals from Ollie Banks, Will Grigg, and James Berry gave Paul Warne his first defeat of the preseason.

If it had been a competitive match, such a loss would be cause for concern, but as it was a friendly, fans shouldn’t panic.

Unfortunately, the news that one of Warne’s first-team players may miss four months of action added to the disappointment felt by fans in addition to the score.

Derby County delivered an injurious blow to Jake Rooney that was “awful.”

In September of last year, during the Bolton Wanderers defeat, Jake Rooney sustained anterior critical ligament damage.

The young centre-back, who was gifted, recovered incredibly well to force his way back into first-team practice. He even declared his intention to be back in Warne’s starting lineup for the championship.
