Former Cardinals OLs were released by the Steelers.

Arizona The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced that Mason Cole, an offensive lineman for the Arizona Cardinals, is being released.

For the last two seasons (2022–2023), Cole started at center for the club. During that period, he started 34 regular-season games (17 in each season). In 2023, he also kicked off the Steelers’ Wild Card playoff game.

“Cole played one season with the Minnesota Vikings (2021) and three with the Arizona Cardinals (2018–20), the team that selected him in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He signed with the Steelers as an unrestricted free agent during the 2022 offseason.

“The Chief’ Award,” which bears the name of Steelers founder Art Rooney Sr. and is given to a member of the organization who best embodies the attitude of cooperation with the media that Rooney demonstrated, went to Cole in 2022.

With the transaction, Pittsburgh freed up $4.75 million in cap space.

The Cardinals selected Cole with the 97th overall pick. He started every game in his rookie season and was benched in his sophomore campaign, making just two starts in 16 games.

Cole started each of the 14 games he played in 2020 before being traded to the Vikings in advance of the 2021 NFL Draft.
