The coaching staff at Auburn University is keeping an eye on a number of 2024 prospects who are currently committed to the Trojans.

In order to concentrate on playing football, a lot of high school football prospects in America try to make their official college decisions before their senior year. Recruitment heats up in the summer, even though many desire to be mostly finished with their recruiting ahead of time, and they won’t sign with a program until December or February 2025.

This summer, the Auburn football coaching staff is pursuing a number of prospects who have already committed to the University of Southern California. These players include four-star edge Isaiah Gibson, three-star running back Daune Morris, and five-star quarterback Julian Lewis.

Although Lewis has been a Trojans fan since August 2023, he has kept an eye out for Auburn football. The quarterback has visited the Plains multiple times and will make an official trip back there next month. The Tigers are viewed by John Garcia, the national recruiting analyst for the Richmond Rams, as the strongest threat to flip Lewis since Georgia chose to go with 4-star quarterback Ryan Montgomery:

“Lewis’s formal visit to AU on June 14 will be closely watched to obtain his firsthand look at the program, as reports from Rivals continue to err on the side of quiet confidence. Additionally, Lewis wants the process to be over before the start of the football season, and this weekend marks the anniversary of the formal visit from USC.”

Running back Daune Morris is also scheduled to visit the Plains on June 14. This will be Morris’s second visit to the program this year. He has developed close bonds with Auburn’s running backs coach Derrick Nix and co-defensive coordinator Charles Kelly. Morris’s only other formal visit scheduled at this time is to USC.

Auburn football will host 4-star edge Isaiah Gibson, who committed to the Trojans earlier this year in March, just before Lewis and Morris arrive. He’s committed, but he’s also maintained his options open, scheduling several official visits in June, including one to the Plains. Several prestigious programs, like Georgia, Tennessee, and Oklahoma, are vying for the #1 edge in the nation, but Auburn football is here to stay.
