Buffalo Bills axe nine players on single day, including quarterback, as NFL roster cut deadline looms over teams
THE Buffalo Bills have released nine players ahead of the new NFL season as the roster cut deadline approaches.
Quarterback Anthony Brown Jr. was one of seven players cut by the Bills, while safeties Dee Delaney and Terrell Burgess were placed on Injured Reserve.
“This is a tough business,” said head coach Sean McDermott after the Panthers game.
“They’re prepared either way. For whatever happens, they’ll be prepared and they’re going to be just fine.”
Brown was only signed just before the Panthers game, with starting quarterback Josh Allen’s backup Mitch Trubisky out of action with a knee injury.
The 26-year-old took his unlikely opportunity and went 11-of-12 passing for 102 yards.
