The Indiana Fever, led by Caitlin Clark, suffered a difficult 88-69 loss against the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday.
Clark, a player who has been very impressive in her first WNBA season, finished the game with just 13 points, which is her lowest total in almost a month. Sports media celebrity Skip Bayless expressed his dissatisfaction of the performance on social media, unleashing a torrent of criticism.

Bayless chastised Clark for his decision-making and style of play in a string of posts on X. The way that Caitlin Clark, the greatest college scorer ever, hunts and generates her own shot, how quickly she defers, and so selfless to the point of being faultless, it truly amazes me. She didn’t know when to shoot, thus she only went 1–7 in the first half. Indeed, six rebounds and six assists. BUT I NEED HER TO SCORE,” wrote Bayless.
In an additional post, Bayless continued, saying, “I apologise, but Caitlin Clark sold out another road stadium in Vegas then vanished again in the fourth quarter. Absent aggressive vigour or drive. refused to shoot. So much thoughtless mishandling. There’s a problem here.
That evening, Bayless gave Clark’s opponents acclaim.
“Yet another star guard, Kelsey Plum, just said, ‘Watch this, Caitlin,’ and scored 34 while Caitlin pretty much watched,” the critic stated, harshly capping his indictment of another elite player.
The scathing criticism that Bayless has consistently directed at the Fever rookie highlights the close scrutiny that Clark must endure during her debut season. Fans of Clark hope she can recover more strongly in the next games despite the setback and the disparaging remarks. Clark is still a vital member of the Indiana Fever.
