JUST IN: the Los Angeles Rams Announced The Re-signing of A veteran Safety On a one-year Contract…..

Los Angeles Rams announce the return of safety John Johnson III

Veteran safety John Johnson III re-signed, the Los Angeles Rams announced Thursday morning. Johnson has signed a one-year contract with Los Angeles, and this will be his second tenure with the Rams.

The Rams selected Johnson in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.Throughout his seven-year NFL career, Johnson has played in 103 regular-season games for the Cleveland Browns and the Rams.

The Rams really needed an additional seasoned player in their secondary. Kamren Kinchens, a gifted rookie with no NFL experience, and Russ Yeast, who has failed in the league, appeared to be vying for the safety slot opposite Kamren Curl. Johnson’s signing fills that void in the secondary with experience and allays fears around it.

Although Johnson isn’t nearly the same performer as he was during his first season with the Rams, he is a shrewd, experienced professional who will play a significant role as a mentor for the young players in LA’s secondary. Johnson was third on the team last season with his two interceptions. His presence will be critical this late in the offseason for Los Angeles, who are losing Aaron Donald up front and switching to Chris Shula as their new defensive coordinator.
