Later this month in Arlington, Texas, there will be an All-Star Game. Three Philadelphia Phillies will start for the National League.
Three players from the Philadelphia Phillies have been chosen to start for the National League in the July 16 All-Star Game at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, the Major League Baseball said on Wednesday.
Bryce Harper, the first baseman, was already in after securing his spot as the National League’s top vote-getter last week.
Phase two voting concluded at noon eastern on Wednesday, selecting shortstop Trea Turner and third baseman Alec Bohm as starts.
Mookie Betts, the star of the Los Angeles Dodgers, was facing injury versus Turner. Despite this, the vote was tight because, following Tuesday’s results, they were all at 50%. However, Turner prevailed on the last day.
This will be Turner’s third All-Star appearance, his first since 2022 and his third with a different team (Washington, 2021, Los Angeles Dodgers, 2022).
Bohm is making his first All-Star Game appearance and had a comfortable lead on San Diego’s Manny Machado going into the final day of voting. Bohm had the most votes in phase one voting at third base and was one of a handful of players with three million or more votes in the initial fan vote.
Though they were not chosen as reserves, the other Phillies finalists might still be called up.

Realmuto’s return is scheduled for following the All-Star break. Specified hitter At designated hitter, Kyle Schwarber was defeated by Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Both Brandon Marsh and Nick Castellanos, outfielders for the Phillies, did not place among the top three players who cast ballots at that position. Christian Yelich of Milwaukee, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Jurickson Profar of San Diego also progressed.
The only position match that didn’t feature a Phillies player was at second base, as Ketel Marte of Arizona defeated Luis Arraez of San Diego.
Baltimore shortstop Gunnar Henderson, Toronto first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Houston second baseman Jose Altuve, Cleveland third baseman José Ramírez, and Baltimore catcher Adley Rutschman comprised the American League starting infield. The outfielders are Steven Kwan of Cleveland and Aaron Judge and Juan Soto of the New York Yankees. Yordan Alvarez of Houston is the designated hitter.
On Sunday, the pitching staff and reserves will be revealed. These choices are determined by MLB and a player vote.
