JUST IN: Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs celebrates rumored Mavs contract for Klay Thompson…….

Klay Thompson’s Alleged Mavs Contract is Celebrated by Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes undoubtedly enjoys the impression the Dallas Mavericks made during NBA free agency.

The quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs and ardent supporter of the Dallas Mavericks took to X, the website that was once known as Twitter, to rejoice over Klay Thompson’s signing of a $50 million, three-year contract.

Charles Omenihu of the Chiefs, a defensive end who was frustrated the Lakers couldn’t sign the five-time All-Star, was one of the players he even took the time to speak with.

Mahomes is presumably familiar with Thompson. A notable matchup between Mahomes and Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce and Thompson and then-teammate Steph Curry took place in 2023’s “The Match.”

When Dallas made it to the NBA Finals and lost to the Boston Celtics in the championship game, Mahomes was a major fan of the team. Although the Celtics team had a stronger roster than the Mavericks, Thompson undoubtedly raises the caliber of play in Dallas.

He played 77 games for the Golden State Warriors in 2023–24, averaging 17.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. During his tenure with the franchise, he assisted the Warriors in winning four NBA titles and was selected to the All-NBA team twice.

He will now play alongside Kyrie Irving and Luka Dončić in Dallas as he hopes to help the Mavericks earn their first NBA title since 2011.
