Breaking News:The Bears defence wants to win more games in 2024… see more…….

By the time the 2024 season rolls around, the Chicago Bears defence might rank among the best in the league.

The defence recovered to become one of the best units in the NFL in the second half of 2023 after a difficult start to the year. Chicago had the fifth-most takeaways (28), and they concluded with the best run defence in the league.

The Bears, who are in their third season under Matt Eberflus, are hoping to capitalise on their success as they welcome back the majority of their starting lineup from the previous campaign, including Pro Bowl edge rusher Montez Sweat and All-Pro cornerback Jaylon Johnson.

According to cornerback Kyler Gordon, the defence is aiming for a certain objective as they approach the 2024 campaign: Additional lessons learned.

During minicamp, Gordon remarked, “I feel like the biggest thing for me and what we all talk about is takeaways, more takeaways. We want to record 20 and 20: 20 fumbles and 20 interceptions. We will succeed in getting it, whatever it takes. That’s simply the norm that we all hold each other to and the standard that we hold ourselves to.

Considering Chicago tied for the NFL lead in interceptions (22) in the previous season, that feels like a realistic objective. However, they only managed six fumble recoveries; this is something they want to work on.

The offensive players have already praised the defence, with guard Teven Jenkins, wide receiver Keenan Allen, and quarterback Caleb Williams ranking them among the top five defences in the NFL. Gordon wants to demonstrate it on the pitch despite the accolades.

He declared, “I’m all about proving it.” “You have a lot of things to say. In terms of chemistry, intensity, and simply the time that we’re on, I would say that I definitely feel a lot from the defence. I see a lot of things happening for us in the future, including getting everyone on the same page and moving forward from last year. I’m merely thrilled.
