Aaron Boone Rues says, “Unfortunately We Couldn’t” after the Yankees lose to the Mariners once more despite Gleyber Torres’ three-run home run.
How devastating is hope? Following the conclusion of the seventh inning, the New York Yankees started to dream once more. Gleyber Torres had opened up the game for them, going from down by 4 runs to just 1 run. Would it occur once more? Can the Bronx Bombers turn a loss into a victory? Not today, please. It turned out that what appeared to be the start of a wildfire was only a flicker, and the Seattle Mariners won their second game in a row against them. Aaron Boone is furious about that.
The Yankees captain is aware that they had a fantastic chance to mount a comeback thanks to Torres’ hit. Torres’ home run may have been the game-winning hit in a contest in which Mariners pitcher Bryan Woo pitched six scoreless innings. However, the other Yankees batters were unable to capitalize on the circumstance. Aaron Boone made a statement about it in his
Boone had all praise for the star Torres when questioned about his at-bat. “At bat, extremely, really good. That’s his capability,” Boone remarked. The skipper was a little let down, though. “So he’s got another huge hit to pull us straight back into it. Sadly, we were unable to proceed past that. Still, it was a solid at-bat for him in a crucial situation.
Only four hits were obtained by the Yankees during the game, excluding Torres’ home run. That indicates that the opposition has totally neutralized the team’s offensive. Although it is unsettling, the Bronx Bombers have one thing to be happy about: Gleyber Torres is back to his previous level of play.
The slugger wasn’t quite happy with his performance, though. It was evident from his post-game press conference that Torres has a long way to go before reaching his peak performance again.
This year, Torres may have had one of his worst starts to a career. The superstar’s lead role was originally intended for him, but his poor performance soon cost him the gig. With his confidence gone, many questioned if Torres would perform at his peak during his walk year. However, this enormous home run indicates that he still has some fire in him. Thus, Torres’ response to the question of how he felt about the plate was conflicting.
“I observe a lot of labor. feels nice mentally. I feel like I’m improving and improving,” Torres remarked. “Yet, I don’t see any (pitches), but I’m striving to feel more consistent every time I go about my daily business.”For now, Torres is content with his situation. Fans of the Yankees will still have to wait until they see their hero in all of his glory again because the star admitted he isn’t catching everything.
