After suffering a tumble, Novak Djokovic’s father Srdjan was taken to the hospital, and Serb quickly joined him due to a possible fracture: Reports
World No. 1 Novak Djokovic’s father, Srdjan, was taken to the hospital after he fell at home in Belgrade, according to reports that have surfaced from Serbia.
Sportal said that Srdjan hurt his arm after he slid off his chair and hit the ground while tending to his birds. It’s also possible that his upper arm fractured as a result of the fall.
Novak Djokovic and his brother Marko hurried to the hospital upon hearing the same. Sportal has revealed that physicians are still determining how long the senior Djokovic will need to stay in the hospital while Srdjan is receiving treatment.
Fortunately, Novak Djokovic, the 24-time Grand Slam champion, was in Belgrade preparing for the forthcoming French Open and the Italian Open. He had withdrew from this week’s Madrid Open and had only participated in one clay event of the season, the Monte-Carlo Masters, when he advanced to the semifinals.
Grandfather Zaga of Novak Djokovic said, “I know how much Srdjan encouraged him and implored God to let him succeed.”
In an interview with the Bosnian daily Kurir in 2020, Novak Djokovic’s grandfather Zagar discussed the influence Srdjan had on his grandson.
Zagar highlighted how Srdjan constantly sensed that the World No. 1 was destined for success and how he frequently prayed to God for his kid to succeed.
“I am aware of Srdjan’s strong support for him and his prayers to God for success. The World No. 1’s grandfather stated, “He always had a feeling that Novak would be successful, and it was great.”
Zagar also discussed the financial difficulties that Srdjan and his wife Dijana faced when Djokovic was a child; they were frequently obliged to take out large loans with exorbitant interest rates.
“They had to take out a large loan. What if it didn’t work? I questioned Srdjan once. I would unload the wagons at the station, he would tell me,” he said.
The grandpa of the 24-time Grand Slam champion also talked glowingly of his grandson’s disposition, remembering how intelligent and talented he was even as a small child.
“When Novak was a little child, they once left him with me to look after him on Kopaonik. Djokovic’s grandfather remembered, “It’s surprising how good and educated he was from a young age. He welcomed me quickly despite the fact that we hadn’t really met.”
