American football quarterback Jaden Rashada plays quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs. He was a former player for the Sun Devils of Arizona State.
Childhood and adolescence
After his freshman year, Rashada transferred to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida from Liberty High School in Brentwood, California.[1] He attended IMG for the summer, but before the football season began, he returned to California and enrolled in Pittsburg High School.[2] He completed over 2,220 yards of passing as a junior, including 27 touchdown passes.[3] As a senior, Rashada passed for 3,055 yards and 32 touchdowns.[4] After coming to an arrangement with a recruiting app in December 2021, he is thought to have become the first high school football player to sign an endorsement contract.[5]
Hiring
Initially, Rashada turned down offers from Texas A&M, LSU, Florida, Mississippi, and Miami to play collegiate football.[6] Following his Miami commitment, Rashada reportedly received a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal of up to $9.5.[7] Later on, he denied receiving any kind of offer.[8]
Later on, he reversed his vow to Florida.[9] Rashada asked to be released from his National Letter of Intent just before he was scheduled to attend in Florida’s spring semester of 2023.[10] Subsequently, word spread that a $13.85 million non-refundable contract with the Gator Collective, an independent athletic booster group, had collapsed.[11] In the end, Rashada enrolled at Arizona State, the university his father had attended.[12]
