Boris Becker reaffirms his intention to coach Novak Djokovic once more.
Following his divorce from Goran Ivanisevic, Novak Djokovic is still without a coach.
The great tennis player Boris Becker has stated that he is not considering a position as Novak Djokovic’s new mentor. Following his third-round elimination at Indian Wells, the Serbian star broke up with Goran Ivanisevic, ending their five-year, wildly successful partnership.
Boris Becker says he is “working hard with the authorities” and that he will return to Wimbledon.
Since the announcement, Djokovic has not had a coach. Several well-known individuals have been connected to the world No. 1 player. The 24-time Major winner was recently seen working out with Nenad Zimonjic, but there has been no truth to rumors that he is vying to replace Ivanisevic.
Given that Becker collaborated with Djokovic from 2013 to 2016, there is also speculation that the two will work together again. The 56-year-old has, however, also stated that he has no plans to take up Djokovic’s role as coach once more.
After three years together, the two are still close friends, but Becker believes they are both searching for new chances. “I think he’s looking for something fresh right now,” he said to The Telegraph. I doubt whether he is really aware of what that is.
He will always be a close friend of mine; we talk tennis all the time. However, since I’ve already coached him, I couldn’t possibly do it again. That would be going backward.
“His choice to go to Madrid startled me. I believe he needs matches right now. He requires the rivalry. He has his own timetable, though. I believe that his primary competition is the gold medal he won for Serbia at the Olympics in Paris, so perhaps he has already scheduled himself to be fit for July. This might be the cause. He is someone you can never undervalue or write off.

Only a few months after joining the Dane coaching team, Becker resigned as Holger Rune’s coach earlier this year. The six-time Major champion announced his separation from the world No. 7 in February, but he remained Rune’s coach in October.
We began this cooperation with the primary goal of reaching the ATP Finals at the end of last year, but moving forward I realized that in order for this to be successful, I would need to be accessible for Holger much more than I can,” Becker wrote on X to announce the split.
I’m unable to provide Holger with what he needs right now because of work and personal obligations. I will always be his biggest admirer and I wish him nothing but the best. I was really grateful for our adventure together. BB.
