The Broncos will see Michael Penix Jr. once again.
On Thursday, Michael Penix Jr. performed his Pro Day exercise in Seattle. The Denver Broncos dispatched several people to see the University of Washington quarterback throw, even though they were without its star players and head coach.
And they will see him once more in the days to come.
Michael Penix Jr. informed ESPN after the meeting that he will be meeting individually with four clubs in the coming days, including the Broncos. The Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Falcons, Las Vegas Raiders, and New York Giants will also meet with him.
This will be Penix’s second official in-person interview with the Broncos. Penix attended Indiana University for his undergraduate studies. Penix also had a meeting at the NFL Scouting Combine with the Broncos. At the Combine, he was one of seven quarterbacks who had a formal interview with Broncos officials.
Penix said, “Man, that was a fascinating encounter,” on March 1. “It was distinct from the others.
However, I felt OK. Both going into it and coming out of it gave me a sense of confidence. Being able to play for Coach Sean Payton would be incredible. He’s an excellent coach.
The discussion turned acrimonious when Phoenix informed the reporters afterwards that the Broncos chose to highlight a few of his poor performances.
“But it’s beneficial because it’s challenging at the next level. Winning is difficult. That’s understandable, Penix said.
“In some respects, I think they were just observing how I handled those poor plays, to see whether I could accept responsibility, and that kind of thing. And I will always act in such manner.
Penix has a long history of ailments, including two knee surgeries and problems with both shoulders. However, he also possesses a high football I.Q., as seen by a response he provided during late January’s Senior Bowl week.
