On Friday afternoon, the Buffalo Bills strengthened Josh Allen’s offensive line by adding seasoned center Will Clapp.
During his time as a player for the Los Angeles Chargers in the previous season, Clapp, 27, gave up only one sack in 702 offensive snaps. Recall that in 2023, Clapp gave up just 24 quarterback pressures, according to Pro Football Focus.
Clapp will likely compete to be the Bills’ swing-offensive guard, giving solid center Connor McGovern some much-needed depth behind him.
After playing for the Chargers for two seasons, Clapp—who was initially taken by the New Orleans Saints in the 2018 NFL Draft—joins the Bills. He has played in 65 games in the NFL during his career.
Even though Josh Allen is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, the Buffalo Bills signal-caller always challenges his offensive linemen. Even tight end Dalton Kincaid knows that even when it seems like a play has broken down with Josh Allen on the field, the down doesn’t stop until the whistle blows.
In an interview with Fan Duel’s Up and Adams, Kincaid said Josh’s in-game knowledge has assisted him in determining his hobbies. “It makes no difference where the devil you are.”
Last season, Allen completed 4,306 passes for 4,306 yards, with 29 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.
