NFL management sends a letter of suspension to Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe.

Jalen Milroe, the quarterback for Alabama, will be back in 2024.

Although Milroe made it clear on The Next Round in Alabama that he would return the next season, it was not widely anticipated that he would declare for the NFL Draft in 2024.

He declared, “I’m returning for my senior year.”

During the season, Milroe proved to be one of college football’s most dangerous quarterbacks. After throwing two interceptions in Week 2 against Texas, he was benched for Alabama’s Week 3 victory over South Florida. However, he earned back his starting position the following week and never gave it up.

Entering the Rose Bowl game against Michigan, the junior quarterback is 171-of-261 for 2,718 yards, 23 touchdowns, and six interceptions on the season. In addition, he has 12 touchdowns and 468 yards on rushes.

In the SEC title game, he scored two significant runs to secure Alabama’s victory against Georgia and advance them to the College Football Playoffs. That was one week after Alabama defeated Auburn and remained in the running for the national championship thanks to a miraculous touchdown throw from Milroe to Isaiah Bond on a fourth-down.

After a stellar last eight weeks of play, Milroe was voted sixth in the Heisman Trophy, voting behind winners Michael Penix Jr., Jordan Travis, Marvin Harrison Jr., Jayden Daniels, and Bo Nix.

Following Alabama’s selection for the College Football Playoff, head coach Nick Saban remarked, “Jalen has done a terrific job for us,” at a press conference. “There is no doubt that his transformation and growth as a player have played a major role in our team’s success.”

In the CFP semifinal, Alabama is a 1.5-point underdog against Michigan. Prior to the two semifinal matches, the Crimson Tide were the most favored team to win the national championship, trailing only the Wolverines.
