When Arsenal plays Manchester City, Mikel Arteta hopes to have every member of his team available. The two Premier League championship rivals will square off at Etihad Stadium at the end of March, but first several international games need to be completed.
During the break, a number of players from Manchester City and Arsenal will be in action, but Gabriel Magalhaes won’t be one of them. The Arsenal player withdrew from Brazil’s forthcoming friendly against England and Spain earlier this week. “We had another casualty today, Monday. Regretfully, Brazil’s manager, Dorival Junior, acknowledged that Gabriel Magalhães was not called.
Along with his international teammate Gabriel Martinelli, Arteta will be trying to use the two weeks at London Colney to recuperate from the undisclosed problem. Due to a foot injury, the 22-year-old has missed the last several weeks of play. However, he has resumed light training with the intention of playing against Manchester City.
After recovering from muscular problems, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Thomas Partey have all recently returned; Jurrien Timber is still not back.
Recently, Arteta rendered a judgment on the summer signing’s handling of the ailment, raising the possibility that he may soon return to action. “Yes, without a doubt. As the 22-year-old resumed his partial training, he remarked, “It’s been a pleasure. His approach has impressed the medical personnel, including the physiotherapists. Since it’s the penultimate stage of that challenging injury, we must now manage, but I believe he is headed in the correct direction.”
At this point in the season, any injuries to important players would be devastating for Arsenal, and it looks like one of those worries has materialized. Jordan Henderson, Cole Palmer, Harry Kane, and Bukayo Saka all trained inside on Monday, according to a social media statement from England.
Although it is reasonable that he would be concerned, his absence is said to be precautionary, and it is still anticipated that he will be available to play on Sunday, March 31, against Manchester City. Since England’s two upcoming games are friendlies—they take on Brazil this Saturday and Belgium three days later—it’s doubtful that Saka will be put in danger.
