Breaking News: Rasheed Wallace boldly claims that Michael Jordan wasn’t a….

Michael Jordan, according to Rasheed Wallace, wasn’t all that much of a defender.

Long before the phrase became popular in the NBA, Michael Jordan, the former player for the Chicago Bulls, was the quintessential two-way player

. He was recognized for his extraordinary ability to score points as well as his equally outstanding defensive abilities, which led to nine choices for the All-Defensive First Team during his career.

However, former player and fellow graduate of North Carolina, Rasheed Wallace, believes that Jordan’s defensive abilities were perhaps overstated.

The outspoken Wallace claims that the story the NBA created to support His Airness’s brilliance may have had nothing to do with his defensive prowess.

“As a defender, Mike wasn’t all that terrific,” the four-time All-Star said.

“That’s all NBA garbage. Mike is someone we like; therefore, we’re going to promote him. Dadadada. I mean, I’m talking about taking risks. I saw an MFer lose it when he was unable to halt another MFer.”

Wallace continued by saying that he had seen Jordan lose against players like JR Rider, Clyde Drexler, and Joe Dumars, claiming that although MJ possessed defensive prowess, it wasn’t as great as it was made up to be.

“Probably against Clyde Drexler and against JR Rider. Remember the early Joe Dumars, sh**? Not that he didn’t play defense; I’m only stating that at that point in time, his defense wasn’t as good as most other cats’. He couldn’t be on the first team all-defensive for ten or eleven games in a row.

Wallace and Jordan attended the same school, but it’s obvious from his comments that he doesn’t think highly of the goat. Wallace questioned Jordan’s claim to be the greatest basketball player of all time in a different conversation.

Why is he the goat, anyway?Wallace made an assumption.

“He leads a single category. I handed it on to him. I tip my cap to the Finals team, 6 and 0. That’s impressive right now. I may agree that Michael Jordan is the greatest competitor in history, but you could also argue that he is the best player of all time. He’s not the best offensive player in any category. He doesn’t lead any defensive category.”
