SB Nation Reacts: Raiders supporters feel defensive tackle is the most important necessity besides quarterbacking.
Senior Bowl Week is when the Las Vegas Raiders will begin their draft preparations. The scouting department, under the direction of assistant general manager Champ Kelly, is gathering information about the top prospects for 2024.
The most pressing need for most fans is for a quarterback. While Aidan O’Connell was erratic overall, he held his own as a starter. He left open the possibility of the squad looking for competition in the future. But the Raiders need to address the gaps in their defense and offense.
We asked Raiders supporters what they believed to be the most important need outside of quarterbacks in this week’s SB Nation Reacts. Despite a tight contest, the defensive tackle won with 35% of the vote.
At 32%, offensive tackle came in second on the list. At 13, right tackle might be a possibility thanks to plays like Oregon State’s Taliese Fauga. Since Jerry Tillery is the sole veteran on the team, there is a greater need for the defensive tackle position. Given Bryon Young’s lackluster rookie campaign, the Raiders will be searching inside for impact players.
