After a stellar season, Lions wide out joins the elite club.
Despite not quite making it to Super Bowl LVIII, the Detroit Lions should be pleased with their 2023 season.
In the Wild Card round matchup with the Los Angeles Rams, the Lions won their first postseason game in a long time, ending their decades-long playoff drought.
Before losing to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game, Detroit went on to defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Divisional Round.
Considering the age and talent of the club as a whole, the Lions are positioned for long-term success,, even though they just missed the Super Bowl.
Star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who has established himself as one of the greatest and most dependable wideouts in the NFL, is leading the offense.
Using PFF, St. Brown, who just finished his third season, became a member of an exclusive group of receivers.
“Amon-Ra St. Brown (315), Justin Jefferson (324), and Michael Thomas (321),, have the most receptions in their first three professional seasons, according to a PFF tweet.
Due to his flexibility to line up throughout the formation, St. Brown emerged as Detroit’s preferred receiver in the passing game.
The former Trojan from USC performs best in the slot, but he can also line up outside and even catch jet sweeps for yards gained on the rush.
But his sweet spot is working the short and intermediate fields, where he can get open with his route-running and burst skills.
Every time the team needs a conversion, Jared Goff frequently turns to St. Brown, who typically catches the pass and gains additional yardage as well.
